The Sahara is located in the northern part of Africa. It is the largest hot desert in the world, covering an area of approximately 3.6 million square miles. The Sahara stretches from the Atlantic Ocean in the west to the Red Sea in the east, and from the Mediterranean Sea in the north to the Sahel region in the south. It spans across several countries including Algeria, Chad, Egypt, Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Sudan, and Tunisia. The climate in the Sahara is extremely arid, with very little rainfall and high temperatures. It is known for its vast sand dunes, rocky landscapes, and unique plant and animal life that have adapted to survive in such harsh conditions.
