The correct answer is Maharashtra (option 4). Maharashtra was the first state in India to declare a State butterfly, this happened in 2015. The Blue Mormon, Scientifically known as Papilio polymnestor, was declared as the state butterfly by Maharashtra.
Option 1, Arunachal Pradesh, is incorrect because there has been no such declaration by them. Similarly, Option 2, Himachal Pradesh, and Option 3, Karnataka, have also not yet declared any state butterfly.
Each state in India has its own official seal and symbols which may include a state animal, bird, flower and tree. But declaring a state butterfly was quite unique and done for the first time by Maharashtra.
